Kathryn Parisi

Katie is a fifth-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program. She completed a double major in Psychology and French Language & Literature at the University of Rhode Island. She obtained a master’s degree in Psychology at Boston University working at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders under David Barlow and then worked at the University of Mississippi Medical Center as a research coordinator for projects related to the implementation of behavioral treatments for children and families. Katie’s program of research is focused on the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based mental health interventions for underserved children and families who experience increased barriers when accessing care. She is particularly interested in examining implementation in diverse settings such as in schools, and the inherent state and federal policies which may facilitate dissemination. Katie’s dissertation will evaluate a state-wide implementation of Child Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE) in novel settings, specifically examining practitioner characteristics and attitudes which predict successful implementation. Clinically, Katie has a strong foundation in behavioral approaches with over 8 years of integrated community-based clinical experience before beginning the clinical program. During her time in the clinical program, she has provided services in several settings, specializing in interventions for treating trauma in a domestic violence shelter, as well as providing assessment and intervention services in the departmental Psychological Clinic. Katie will be attending the University of Mississippi Medical Center for her Doctoral internship in 2022.
